Job Description

Air Quality Monitoring Technicians are essential to ensuring the integrity and reliability of ambient air quality data. These roles may involve maintaining and operating advanced monitoring equipment, data collection, data entry, and generating detailed reports. Joining the Trojan Safety team means working alongside industry-leading professionals in a supportive and dynamic environment. Our technicians assist in creating a safer environment by providing analysis of air pollution and addressing any concerns related to compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for our Air Quality Monitoring Technicians include:

  • Maintaining air monitoring equipment according to manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Ensuring downwind air monitoring units are operational and ready for deployment.
  • Analyzing air quality data and compiling detailed reports.
  • Collaborating with a team of technicians to complete projects efficiently.
  • Working directly on revenue-generating jobs as well as in the shop maintaining equipment.
  • Communicating technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with air quality regulations to protect natural resources and human health.

Physical Requirements

Given the demands of the position, candidates must:

  • Maintain a reasonable level of fitness

  • Be able to work multiple consecutive shifts, including day and night shifts

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Teledyne analyzers and other air-monitoring electronics
  • Thorough understanding of air quality regulations in BC and Alberta
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract

Role and Responsibilities

Candidates should possess a diploma in Environmental Sciences. They should have a good understanding of electronics related to air monitoring such as Teledyne analyzers, and have a thorough understanding of the air quality regulations in both BC and Alberta. Candidates are expected to:
  • Maintain air monitoring equipment to manufacturers specifications
  • Ensure Downwind Air Monitoring units are functioning correctly, and ready for deployment.
  • Understand generated data, and be able to write reports associated with that data.
  • Research/Develop equipment associated to the business.
  • Work with a team of technicians to ensure projects are being completed efficiently.
  • Work directly on revenue generating jobs, as well as in the shop working on equipment.
  • Be able to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical persons.
