Industrial Firefighters & Fire Services

Trojan Safety Services has responded to emergencies in theoil and gas fields in Western Canada for the past 20 years. Trojan has full-time personnel available 24/7 to mobilize industrial fire service and related ERP services. Our industrial firefighter team will assist with all aspects of your facility emergency and actively respond to any hazards or fires in a safe manner to defuse a bad situation.

Trojan operates one of the most modern fleets of fire/shower trucks in the industry. Our pump trucks are equipped with waterous midship pumps 1250-1850 gpm, a foam concentrate injection system that includes 125 gal of foam concentrate, 1500 lb PK dry chemical, 1000-1400 gal of potable water, 3 stall decontamination shower/eyewash and all firefight related apparatus required for initial emergency response. Trojan’s Shower is equipped with at least 3 shower stations complete with eyewash and drench hoses. Our company vehicles carry a 1000 gal thermostatically controlled water supply and come equipped with a level 2 Alberta First Aid kit, 2 SCBAs and 1-30lb Fire Extinguisher.

Industrial firefighting personnel must meet and or exceed industry regulations with NFPA 1001/02/81 training as well as different types of industry-required training.

Industrial Firefighters

We conduct regular safety meetings to ensure all of our firefighters are up to date with appropriate hazard control and risk management skills and training to effectively diffuse a bad situation. The industrial firefighter job is a safety-sensitive position and requires the following qualifications.

Minimum Employment Qualifications:

  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001/1081 Fire Fighting
  • H2S Alive
  • Detection and Control of Flammable Substances
  • Confined Space Entry and Rescue
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
  • Level 1 – First Aid and Transportation Endorsement
  • Employee New Hire Package
  • Trojan In-House Fire Fighting Orientation and Training

Additional Industrial Firefighting Training May Include:

At times, the firefighting occupation may require firefighters to gain specific knowledge through training courses; these include:

  • H2S Safety Supervisor
  • Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 3 Industrial First Aid
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1006 High-Angle Rescue
  • Advanced Fall Protection and Rescue
