Course Overview

Course Length: 70 Hours
Course Schedule: Two weeks (10 days); Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Cost: $1,350 + GST
Location: Best Western Plus Chateau, 8322 86 St,Fort St. John, BC

This WorkSafeBC-approved First Aid – Advanced course is a minimum 70-hour program (excluding breaks) for worksites requiring advanced first aid coverage. To earn your 3-year certification, you must score at least 70% on the multiple-choice exam and demonstrate practical skill competency with a minimum grade of 70%. Full attendance is mandatory.


To register and complete the First Aid – Advanced course, you will need to have:

  • Photo ID, or 2 non-photo government-issued IDs


This advanced first aid training covers a wide range of patient care, including:

  • Minor injuries
  • Serious traumas
  • Medical conditions
  • Airway breathing and circulatory emergencies


CANCELLATION POLICY:
This First Aid – Advanced course must be paid in full at the time of booking. Cancellations made one week or more before the start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within one week of the start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for no-shows.

Basic and Advanced First Aid are different levels of workplace first aid training designed for different workplace needs. Basic First Aid provides foundational skills for responding to common injuries. Advanced First Aid is a much more comprehensive program. Attendants who successfully complete the advanced training are prepared to deliver care at remote worksites without nearby medical care, as well as in high-risk environments with a greater potential for serious injuries.

Level 1, 2, and 3 First Aid represent progressively higher levels of workplace first aid training. Level 1, now called Basic First Aid, covers fundamental first aid skills. Level 2, now Intermediate First Aid, provides more extensive training for managing serious injuries and medical emergencies. Level 3, now Advanced First Aid, is the highest level, with 70 hours of training focused on responding to serious or complex emergencies, particularly in higher-risk or remote workplaces.

There are no prior first aid certifications or experience required to register for Trojan Safety’s Advanced First Aid course, which means you can register for the course without completing Basic or Intermediate First Aid first. You will receive your Advanced First Aid certification upon successful completion of the full 70-hour course and the required written and practical exams.
