Occupational First Aid Level One Courses

Course Length: 7 Hours
Start Time: 8:00am sharp

$150 + GST
Location: Trojan Safety Training Centre, 11116 Tahltan Road, Fort St. John, BC

The WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level One course is an 7 hour program, including coffee and lunch breaks. In order to be successful, candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 70% on a multiple choice exam. On successful completion of the course, participants receive a 3-year certification.


To register and complete the course, you will need to have:

  • Photo ID, or 2 non-photo gov’t issued ID’s


This Course Covers:

  • Priority action assessment – assess hazards, activate ERP, assess injuries
  • Minor wound care, first aid records, roles and responsibilities of OFA’s
  • Choking, CPR, AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators)
  • Treatment of shock, medical emergencies

Please let us know at least 24 hours (1 business day) before your course date if you need to cancel your booking, otherwise, you will be charged a $100 No-Show fee.

There is IMPORTANT INFORMATION that you need to know to be successful in completing your OFA2 course.

  • You need to be early for each session, by at least 15 minutes.
  • You need to attend ALL sessions, otherwise, you will not be eligible for certification.
  • If you miss any sessions, there will be no refund for your space in the course.
  • There is REQUIRED pre-reading, approximately 3 hours of homework/prereading each night.
  • Upon receiving this confirmation email, you will be required to come to the office and pick up your books IN ADVANCE to begin the pre-reading. It is recommended that you complete all the pre-reading prior to the first lesson.
  • Dress comfortably and appropriately, we recommend knee pads, clean indoor shoes, water bottle and a good attitude.
  • You MUST have a watch with a “seconds” timer for timing breathing and pulse rates. A cell phone is not an acceptable substitute.
  • You will need to bring your entire book and contents with you to each class
