Frequently Asked Questions
A confined space is an enclosed or partially enclosed area unsuitable for individuals for long periods of time. Examples of confined spaces include manholes, storage tanks, shipping containers, and more. Due to the potential dangers of working in these spaces, all those working in confined areas need proper safety training.
The confined space entry and rescue training certification is valid for three years from the issue date.
Anyone who is working in confined spaces needs a confined space entry certificate. If you are to be part of the rescue team, they will need rescue training as well.
The Fort St. John confined space entry and rescue course is a 6-8 hour long course, starting at 8 am on the training day. For those wishing to only complete the entry portion, the course will be shorter, as they are not required to perform a mock rescue in our confined space simulator.
