DESCRIPTION:Course Length: 70 HoursCourse Schedule: This First Aid – Advanced course runs for two weeks (10 days) on the following dates: \n\nMonday to Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm\n\nCost: $1450 (Plus GST)Location: Best Western Plus Chateau\, 8322 86 St\, Fort St. John\, BC \n\nThe WorkSafe BC First Aid – Advanced course is a minimum 70 hour program\, excluding coffee and lunch breaks. In order to be successful\, candidates achieve 70% on a multiple choice exam\, and must demonstrate practical skill competency with a grade of 70% or better. Upon successful completion of the course\, participants receive a 3-year certification. \n\nAttendance for all  SESSIONS is MANDATORY in order to be eligible for certification.\nPre-reading of the course manuals is required – see the reading list here\nIt is recommended that students pick up AFA manuals 2 weeks prior to the start date of the course to begin reading the material.\nStudents are required to complete a statement of fitness prior to the beginning of the course stating they are mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of an AFA Attendant\n\n\nTo register and complete the course\, you will need to have: \n\nPhoto ID\, or 2 non-photo gov’t issued ID’s\n\nThis course covers a wide range of patient care: \n\nMinor injuries\nSerious traumas\nMedical conditions\nAirway breathing and circulatory emergencies\n\nCANCELLATION POLICY: \nThis course is paid in full at the time of booking. Cancellations one week prior to the start date will receive a full refund. Within a week of the course\, 50% refund\, and no refund for no-shows.

This certification is only valid if the attendant maintains a current OFA Level 1\, Level 2 or equivalent certificate. \n\nPrerequisites: \n\nBe at lest 16 years of age\nGovernment Issued Photo ID\nCurrent Level 1 or equivalent First Aid Certificate\n\nThis Course Covers: \n\nThe role of the first aid attendant\, the priority action approach\, and principles of transportation\nThe priority action approach\nPackaging a conscious patient\nPackaging an unconscious patient\nCaring for a patient while in transport\n\nCANCELLATION POLICY:Please let us know at least 24 hours (1 business day) before your course date if you need to cancel your booking; otherwise\, you will be charged a $100 No-Show fee.
